Dr. Kim Smith


Dr. Kim Smith is a 1992 graduate of Stonehill College and a 1996 graduate of The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Smith grew up spent the first part of her career working in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She spent several years as a staff emergency doctor at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital as well as working part time for Dr. Thorp. She has always enjoyed the clients and patient at Bath Veterinary Clinic and is thrilled to be here full time.

Dr. Smith grew up in Massachusetts and spent the first part of her career working in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Her time in practice has been divided between emergency/critical care and general practice. She spent several years as a staff emergency doctor at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital as well as working part time for Dr. Thorp. She has always enjoyed the clients and patient at Bath and is thrilled to be there full time.
When not working Dr. Smith spends time with her 5 pets ( 3 dogs, 2 cats, all rescues) and her husband. She loves to cook, bake, read and be outside (preferably near water). When her work schedule allows she spends time at the track with her husband who is involved in road racing. Mid-Ohio and Road America are her favorite tracks to visit.

Dr. Margaret Thorp


Dr. Margaret Thorp has been the owner of Bath Veterinary Clinic in Bath, Ohio, for 30 years. She graduated from Michigan State College of Veterinary Medicine, and was attracted to this area by the presence of Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital-one of the first, and an exceptional, full service veterinary hospitals. Dr. Thorp has a life-long commitment to animal welfare and rescue. Over the years, Bath Veterinary Clinic has donated tens of thousands of dollars in services to area non-profit animal rescues.
Dr. Thorp has had a lifelong commitment to mentoring students who hope to become veterinarians. She has had 11 employees gain admission to veterinary schools after their time with Bath Veterinary Clinic. She continues to provide many opportunities for employees to attend continuing education and helps them arrange opportunities to shadow veterinary specialists. She spends days each year writing recommendations and letters for veterinary school admissions.
